I have noticed a particular repeating pattern of PokerStars player names IDs and I'm thinking it's more than just random chance.
Here's all 17: FoxyStudE46 HotAceM3C DryStackRQ PocketChopGR BigRunnerDW2 RedAceE726 GoodBet4JBK HotJackA8804 FreeFlush58 BadHeartsF21 EasyHorse855 BadPoker7Y QuickBet7806 FreshChopCJ SavvyFoxVXN LongFlopK707 AceHijack401 Pokerstars tournament leaderboard points sharkscope a full 36% of IDs complying with a definitive naming style against an overall random?
These kinds of names are known to be created on the fly easily with code.
To add to the mystery, there are weekly Leaderboards tracking more than 1,000 players for a particular stake that can be viewed at PokerStars.
And when you look at the IDs listed on those pages, you get a pretty standard mix of 'conventionless' names.
And you are hard pressed to find one California indian casino blackjack rules out pokerstars tournament leaderboard points sharkscope thousands that use the subject naming convention.
I'm not aware of any way to see a complete list of player names IDsbut you can do a search to see if a player is currently active.
Less than hour after completing my session, I searched the above IDs and none came back as active.
So, the mystery deepens.
At least, it's a mystery for me.
It's not really a big deal.
They don't strike me as bots as their playing style is disparate and I win and lose with normal variation.
But, that may be by design, too.
I have also noted them posting comments during play.
Simple things like "Nice hand.
For the entirety of their site at any one time, PokerStars reports the number of active players on their homepage.
If these players aren't pokerstars tournament leaderboard points sharkscope, maybe they are lowly-paid users who help bolster PokerStars numbers.
Maybe I have it all wrong and this kind of naming style has become the de facto means by which people create user IDs nowadays.
Has anyone else noticed players with names of this format?
Online poker is overwhelmed with bots.
They need to up their security.
They pretend to and will ban 5-10 accounts here and there while 100s-1000s of other bots run rampant across their platform.
The depressing thing is that they don't really have any incentive to 'up their security'.
I'm pretty sure that's the only time alot of people were alerted to bots.
Personally, I didn't even know bots knew how to play tournaments; I thought they were mainly confined to cash.
Today I spent 2 hours looking for bots in English and Russian using translator.
You'd be amazed the amount of software there's pokerstars tournament leaderboard points sharkscope />Bots are pokerstars tournament leaderboard points sharkscope so evolved they can mix bet timings and sizes and have a human like mouse movement.
The mouse movement was the one triggering the bans in many software as it was instant snap movement.
Sites like party poker, 888, acr are defined as low security.
They do know how to play tournaments.
There was a link to its sharkscope and it was completely crushing low stakes tournaments to the tune of 30k in 3months or something, volume was insane aswell.
It only happened that one time and it looked to be a bug.
It also happened to happen headsup versus a streamer.
If it wasn't streamed, most people wouldn't even know about it.
How many users pokerstars has online on avg?
Have you played any online game ever?
Most players don't like to add numbers to their username or random combinations of numbers and letters.
Or for example replace AEIO for 4 3 1 0.
I played many games with 100x more users than pokerstars and very rarely I would found names like this.
Like, you made an account and decide to nickname yourself EasyHorse855?
Look them up on pokerstars tournament leaderboard points sharkscope or pokerprolabs to see if they are bots.
I've seen a similar thing twice this month and I looked theese accounts up, all freshly made both times, it can't be a coincidence.
Any unusual HHs, like backraises or anything?
I did a mass investigation into accounts named similar to these a year ago, and this is what I concluded.
They aren't bots, they are just randomly generated names for real people.
And the reason why they only say generic stuff like "Nice Hand" is because that is all the application allows them to chat unless they turn on some sort of special chat permissions.
You will find them on Spin's, cash games and Zoom, but not MTT's and SNG's, as the app doesn't have the ability to display MTT's and Sit n' Go's.
Hope this helped your concerns!
I know what you mean.
The Pokerstars app you use to play with real money is not the app I'm talking about.
The app I'm talking about is the app that is only play money, and the software looks much more like an online casino than a poker site.
Person creates account on there, and from there on if they want to try real money they use that account the app automatically generated to play for real money.
Glad to know I wasn't the only one who found it odd.
I did try searching this subject before posting here thinking someone else likely had already explored this.
I didn't find anything.
Hopefully, this thread will now help someone later on who ponders the same question.
Thanks much for the reply.
Pokerstars were giving out rebates recently for " a situation involving a violation of our terms of service, to the potential detriment of other players" Not saying whether or not these players are bots, but the naming convention is easily explained.
When I created my account five years ago, I entered a name that I used on pokerstars tournament leaderboard points sharkscope site, but it was taken.
Stars gave me three options: MyName55, MyName66, MyName77 -- I chose one of those.
I knew the chances were high that I was reading too much into it and there was likely a straightforward reason.
Thanks kindly for the 411!
When you say do a search if player is active are you talking about the Find A Player cause you can hide from search if you want to.
